Chapter 1: Nova enters Renegade HQ, which is practically her worst nightmare after the heist she just pulled off. She looks at the destruction of Max's quarantine and the bloodstains everywhere. Adrian heads over, and they talk about Nightmare’s attack. He mentions Nightmare’s immunity to both her own Agent N bombs and Max, and how the Vitality Charm is missing. Ruby and Oscar come over and Ruby asks how Max is doing. Adrian tells her that Max is still in critical condition after Nightmare tried to kill him. Nova struggles not to tell them that Genissa was the one who stabbed him and that she (Nightmare) tried to help save him, but she doesn't because she has no way of proving it and it would only raise suspicion about her. Ruby and Adrian agree that Max is strong and will likely recover in time, even though they both seem doubtful. Nova is anxious as she remembers Adrian's promise - "I'm going to find Nightmare, and I am going to destroy her".
Chapter 2: Oscar, Ruby, Adrian, and Nova are gossiping about how Nightmare took out Frostbite and her crew when Turbo comes over. He appears to be fading and Adrian says that happens to all living things he draws, even though later they learn that that is not always the case. Ruby goes to go get Turbo a snack from the vending machines, and Oscar tells them about his plan to ask Ruby out, which he has dubbed “Operation Crown Jewels”. His plan is very flawed and Adrian and Nova walk him through the flaws. The council comes in and Hugh and Simon, Max and Adrian’s dads, both seem exhausted due to the critical condition their younger son is in. They address the fact that Nightmare stole Ace Anarchy’s helmet and stabbed Max. Nova once again struggles to insist it wasn’t Nightmare. They announce that Ace Anarchy was taken captive to concerned confusion rather than cheers. They confirm that Ace’s helmet wasn’t actually destroyed and that he didn’t actually die. They insist that the public be not informed. Tsunami then announces that for part of the reveal of Agent N all villain prodigies, including Ace Anarchy himself, will be neutralized. Genissa, though she is no longer a prodigy, comes in followed by her team and protests against Agent N. After a good deal of arguing Genissa calls everyone who used Agent N an idiot and walks out, followed by her team.
Chapter 3: Nova goes to Adrian's house. Ruby, Oscar, and Danna, who is stuck in swarm mode, are also there. Nova is terrified due to the fact that Danna knows she’s Nightmare. Oscar has brought Ruby’s favorite cookies and they have a board of all the places Nightmare has been. Adrian proposes the theory the Nightmare is secretly a Renegade. He asks Danna what she thinks and her swarm settles on Nova. Panicked, Nova lies and says that Danna must want her to check the vault files.
Chapter 4: Nova is back at her place and discussing how to break Ace out of Cragmoor Penitentiary. Nova thinks of every mistake she has made that could make people realize she’s Nightmare. They discuss what to do when Nova’s discovered and they agree that blowing up the house is the best option. Someone leaves a message on the mirror that says to bring Ace’s helmet to Honey’s old room in 48 hours or she will reveal Nova Artino/Nightmare/Nova McLain/Insomnia’s quadruple identity
Chapter 5: Adrian sneaks into Max’s hospital room.
